According to the London and St. Thomas Association of Realtors, the area witnessed sales volumes that came in 1.1% higher, when compared to October 2009 and that the average housing price continues to increase. Specifically, the average selling price of a home when compared to this time last year is up 6.8%. The sustained monthly gains points to the fact that the London Ontario market is well along in its recovery. Contributing to this recovery are low mortgage rates in London, affordable mortgage payments and a strengthening local economy.
